Kitchen Renovations FAQs in Bentleigh

What carpentry is included in a Bentleigh kitchen renovation?

Athans Building Services can help with kitchen layouts, cabinetry and finishing work in Bentleigh homes. Carpentry may include removing old cupboards, fitting cabinets, installing pantry or island units, adjusting benchtop supports and adding finishing details. The work is planned around the home and the kitchen’s intended use.

Can existing kitchen layouts be changed during renovation?

A kitchen layout can often be adjusted through carpentry, including changes to non structural partitions and repairs to wall framing. Athans Building Services can assess the proposed changes and help prepare the space for a more practical arrangement. Any structural changes may need separate assessment and approval.

How are cabinets and benchtop supports handled?

Cabinetry work can include fitting new kitchen cabinets, making cabinet adjustments and setting up suitable benchtop supports. Athans Building Services takes care to fit components neatly and account for how they meet surrounding walls and fittings. The final approach depends on the kitchen design and the condition of the existing space.

Do you prepare kitchen spaces for new appliances?

Athans Building Services can carry out carpentry preparation for new appliances, including adjustments to cabinetry and framing where required. Plumbing and electrical work is handled by the relevant licensed trades, with the space prepared to suit their work. Clear planning helps coordinate the different parts of a kitchen renovation.

What storage options can be built into kitchens?

Kitchen storage can include pantry units, island units, open shelves and custom storage designed to suit the available space. Athans Building Services can help shape these carpentry details around the kitchen layout and household needs, making it easier to keep everyday items organised and within reach.

How are trims and splashback areas finished?

Finishing carpentry can cover kickboards, splashback backing, doors, trims and details around windows and doorways. Athans Building Services pays attention to how these elements sit alongside the cabinetry and walls, helping the kitchen look tidy and ready for the next stages of the renovation.
